We recently took out Landlord Insurance on a house we rent out (just the one we bought as pension plan when our Equitable Life pension savings collapsed). After much searching we found Equitable Life the best for value and advice. The advice was clear and easy to undrstand but maybe not the cheapest. There were cheaper policies out there but I do our homework and some the reviews were frightening. We would rather pay for peace of mind and Legal and General offered that. An added bonus was £50 M & S vouchers which bring the price down if taken into consideration. You won't get them straight away though - I think about 6 weeks or so after you take out the policy. Policy arrived very quickly and no problem getting through to discuss the policy. I think that the vouchers are only availble to those paying full payment though - not for monthly payments.
