"I am absolutely appalled by my experience with their customer

"On the 5th July I left a review, which you can read below, explaining the problems we had trying to set up an switch online. At that point we gave up and thought never again. However, our current bank, HSBC are so poor - no 24hr banking unless you pay for it and call centres in India - we tried out of sheer desperation to switch again.
We ran into exactly the same problems, plus some others, but with frequent 'phone calls eventually they were sorted and we got..." more
"I have been a customer about 15 years & they are only going from good to great. This morning my daily free text mini-statement alerted me to a web company having debited me for a full year's fee - when I had meant to cancel the free 2-weeks trial. FD acted perfectly throughout, excellent on the phone, gave me the full legal gen, tried to call the company for me - but as they took so long too answer gave me the freefone number with full info on what to do once..." more
"Without a shadow of a doubt, First Direct is BY FAR, the best bank I have ever used. They have set the standard at Gold and to date, no other bank has even come close. I have been with them since they first opened and have never looked back."
"Unfortunately, we now live in Cyprus-not only have our lifetime's/30 years of savings been STOLEN by the government to shore up 2 banks which failed due to criminality, fraud and misappropriation, but we are now stuck here like people on parole having to monthly present ourselves at our bank just to send 5K euro abroad of OUR MONEY every month-WE HAVE NO FREEDOM to use what is left of our hard-earned money as we choose, and thus no freedom of movement outside this..." more
"I have a metro business account you can never get on line it freezes crashes I then had £5200 taken from my account and they will not pay it back even though it is there online rubbish service that caused it do not touch it with a barge poll"
"On the 1st/2nd of April HSBC closed our company bank account in error, that is to say it was closed without any request from us and or our bank manager. Initially this meant that several thousands of our money disappeared for 3 days and some of our suppliers went unpaid.
On the 2nd of April the call centre at HSBC refused to help, claiming our bank manager requested the account be closed. Our bank manager denies she asked to have the account closed. A complaint..." more
"I moved to nationwide after 17 years with NatWest. I moved because of the 5% Interest rate on the flex direct current account 13 months ago. I have never looked back since then. I absolutely love it. I have mobile and online banking which I find quite secure, accessible and easy to navigate. I have had no problems with them. They make it so easy to carry out transactions and I just find my relationship with them so smooth. I have no regrets. Even though my interest..." more
"On the surface the bank is doing a good job to appear friendly, welcoming and caring. Unfortunately once you actually are a member, they ignore you and keep smiling at the potential new customers while providing you a bare minimum service.
I was very happy when joining the bank, it was easy enough to sign up and I was given a great welcome pack and my card within a half hour.
Unfortunately, the trouble all started when I ran out of petrol and tried to buy some..." more
"Signed up for their current account the other day. Up to 5% interest paid on balances up to £2000 (when you pay in £500 or more a month). A great deal. Available to existing and new customers. The 5% interest deal is long-standing too so it will not get taken away after a year like some other deals. I signed up to this account, as savings accounts have pretty poor interest rates at the moment. You also do not have to switch all your direct debits &..." more
