My English Springer Spaniel is covered by The Kennel Club pet insuarance, and I cannot fault the service. The monthly premiums are very good and competitive, and the level of cover available extremley good.I have had the insrance since I first bought my dog and had to make a claim when he was less than 1 year old, as he ate some decoritive garden slate which then perforated his bowel. As you can imagine the vets bill was enormous. The customer service standard was excellent whenever I needed to contact them regarding making the claim and the claim was dealt with very quickly, giving peace of mind at such a worrying time.

"I had 4 weeks free insurance from the breeder initially for my Border Collie, didnt think anymore about it until the period was almost up and started looking into keeping her insured.
I was amazed at how many there are, but what I didnt realise was there are different types and when I started looking into many of the Supermarket policies I discovered that they would only cover her for 12 months.
I contacted the Kennel Club insurance, who were friendly (and UK..." more
"I've had to claim twice sadly in the last 3 years, no matter the cost, both time, I've had issues with Petplan claiming not to have received my paperwork or the vet's even when I knew it had been delivered after I resorted to recorded delivery. The first time, it took Petplan 4 months to pay me! I equally find their customer service pretty poor. It is much more hassle than it's worth and I will be switching Insurer when my premium comes to an end in a few months..." more
"25% premium rise for renewal with no claim having been made. A tadge excessive in anyone's book. Explanation given was not satisfactory and made to sound like I was paying more because the dog is a year older .. well yes ... and due to our postcode area."
"Be very very carefull if you buy Homebase Pet Insurance. In March 2010 we insured our fully pedigree, cataraact and hip displacia checked Chocolate Labrador Puppy. 10 days later she broke her leg. We were told twice that she was not covered as it was in the 14 day qualifying period. 3 months and £1000 later after further enquiries we were told that we had been misinformed and they did actually pay out. We obviously cannot change insurers because of the broken..." more
"I am making a formal complaint to financial ombudsmen with regards to this company .They have a bad reputation for paying out, warned about them and my vet has backed us .Misleading and ambiguous wording in there paperwork and refusal to pay for our cats vets bill after accident where he needed two teeth removing ."
"Poor service, insurance thats' not worth the paper its written on."
